What is a handrail?
It is a solid structured
boundary that acts like a barrier that helps to prevent cars from crashing and
bumping. A handrail is just like a fence but is more designed
for solidity and toughness. They have been useful for securing areas like
highways and streets. Their main purpose is to prevent accidents and natural
disasters such as floods.
How much a handrail can endure the force?
When we talk about how
much force can be endured it depends upon the factors that are listed below.
- Speed of the vehicle
- Size of the vehicle
- Weight of the vehicle
- How much is handrail securely secured
1. Speed of the vehicle
Speed plays a vital role
to determine the endurance of the force. If the speed of the vehicle is very
high, then chances are that it can collapse the handrail. If the
speed of the vehicle is at a lower rate, then the chances are that it will not
bypass. However, there are other factors to consider as well even if the
vehicle is at a higher rate, we cannot determine the force it can endure. As
the speed is directly proportional to the speed, the faster the speed will be,
the more force will be applied and the lesser the speed will be, the lower the
force will be applied.
2. Size of the vehicle
Another important factor
to consider to determine the endurance of force is significantly dependable
upon the size of the vehicle. If the size of the vehicle is larger such as
truck or lorry, then the chances are that it will crash and collapse the handrail.
However, if the vehicle size is comparatively smaller such as a car then it
will have fewer chances for it to be collapsed. As force is directly
proportional to the size of an object, the greater the size will be, the larger
the force will be applied which causes more damage.
3. Weight of the vehicle
As we all know heavier
weight objects have more mass which causes more force to be applied. If we have
to determine the endurance of the force, then we must know the weight of the
vehicle. If the weight of the vehicle is in tons such as of trucks, then it
will cause a greater force on the handrail which can make it
collapse easily. If the weight of the vehicle is less such as a car, then less force
will be applied that will not cause significant damage. As weight is directly
proportional to the force, the endurance significantly varies with the weight
of the vehicle.
To conclude
Force plays a vital role
to determine endurance. If the force is significant then it will cause greater
damage to be done which can collapse the handrail. However, after
considering all the factors then only we can get an idea or an assumption of
how well it can endure the force.
